it is possible that the march organizers have coordinated the times and locations of their marches
in order to increase the number of hooded demonstrators

Dear suspicious kids in hoodies,
congratulations! You've been promoted
to hooded demonstrators you hold
the city in your thrall; your shadows
darken the golden sidewalk darken
your faces. You're against police violence
but that means up against it like the wall
like dancing cheek-to-cheek, like maybe no
means yes to them. Or they hear violence
and come running. They hear wildcat
and they want a souvenir: a shape,
a growl, a hide. You are beautiful
as monks, as villains. Beautiful as Batman,
who also demonstrates. Who manifests
and then disperses, fluttering
in every direction, strobing the searchlight
until the police have need of him again.
